Down the TBR Hole #2 – Decluttering my TBR

This meme was created by Lia @ Lost in a Story. The title basically says it all – you go through your TBR and decide which books you really want to read and keep on your TBR and which books can go!

HOW IT WORKS

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

MY BOOKS

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

I am in love with Rainbow Rowell’s writing and this sounds like it could be a cute story! It’s about this guy who monitors people’s work e-mails and he falls in love with one of the employees through reading her e-mails. That’s a very basic summary, I know but you can click on the book cover and read the Goodreads blurb! I have to say the story does sound a tiny bit creepy but my inner voice tells me to read all of Rainbow’s books because she’s awesome so that’s what I’m going to do!

Decision: KEEP

.

Love and Other Foreign Words by Erin McCahan

I can’t possibly sum up the blurb so you’ll have to check it out on Goodreads (just click on the cover) but it is supposed to be a coming of age story about love, sisters and friends and apparently it’s very light and humorous so this could be a great summer-read!

Decision: KEEP

.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

I know what you’re thinking… Jackie, have you REALLY not read this book yet? I know. I’m the worst. Anyway. This is a super cute love story that everyone keeps raving about and I plan on reading it eventually! And apparently it has fake-dating in it WHICH I LOVE!!!!!

Decision: Definite KEEP!

.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

YES I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN ON MY MARCH TBR AND IT IS NOW MAY AND I STILL HAVEN’T READ IT!!!! I KNOW! And I’m ashamed. This is another cute contemporary that is set in PARIS, what more could you want? Another great summer-read!

Decision: KEEP

.

.

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

A favourite and must-read classic that has been read by everyone but me.

Decision: KEEP

.

.

Huh. No books removed from my TBR this time. Can’t wait to do this again!

SORRY ABOUT THE RANDOM DOTS! FOR SOME REASON WORDPRESS DIDN’T DO WHAT I WANTED IT TO DO WHEN UPLOADING THE PICTURES AND IT WAS A MESS BUT THE DOTS ARE (KIND OF) HELPING SO I HOPE YOU DON’T MIND 😀

Thanks for reading!

Buttonnnn

Have you read any of these books? Did you like them? Did you hate them? Are any of them on your TBR as well? What do you think of my decisions? Let’s chat in the comments!

  1. you’re brave for tryying to lower your tbr shelf xD if i tried i’d probably end up with more than when i started!! To Kill a Mocking Bird isn’t a light read but it’s a good one! Keep meaning to read some Rainbow Powell and Jenny Han!

  2. Ahh this is such a good idea! I might give it try myself because I definitely need to cut back on my tbr. TKAM is honestly a really good read. My copy of the book is falling apart from how many times I have read it.

      1. I definitely need to cut back on my tbr because I keep adding more. I was really good. I stopped adding books I didn’t own my to be read shelf for a few months…and I started again recently. Yes! I hope you get a chance to read it soon! I love talking about that book.

  3. The only book on your list I’ve read is To Kill A Mockingbird and it was for my English Leistungskurs in 12th grade I think! I can’t really tell you if I enjoyed the book or not though because the fact that I had to read it for school definitely dampened my enjoyment of it!

I can’t believe you kept ALL the books on your TBR! That has honestly never happened to me!

    1. Ah yeah that happens to me all the time! When I have to read a book for uni it just feels like an obligation rather than simply reading the book for enjoyment!
I think that I’ve recently cleaned my TBR so most books on there will probably be books that I ACTUALLY still want to read! 😀

Also Jenny Han really knows how to play with ya because one moment I’m rooting for this guy, and then the other. I need to read Anna and the French Kiss because fluffy contemporaries yes please!!! And I haven’t read To Kill a Mockingbird either! I honestly don’t even know what it’s about whoooooops. But again. Classics.

    1. OMG you don’t want to know how long it took me to figure out which book you meant by TATBILB hahahaha 😀 I’ll put it on my Summer TBR list and I think I’ll add Anna and th French Kiss as well, I need a lot of cute, fluffy contemporaries to read in Summer!!!
I don’t know what To Kill a Mockingbird is about either LOL all I know is that it’s very important so I feel like I HAVE to read it some time! 😀

  5. DUDE DON’T WORRY. I HAVEN’T READ ANY OF DEM BOOKS YOU MENTIONED HERE… well except To Kill A Mockingbird. AND THAT BOOK IS BRILLIANT. I actually took a lot of notes while reading the book, so it helped me understand the backgrounf and the themes that the book had! I’M SURE YOU’LL LIKE IT, JACKIE! 🙈

  6. Ohh well you have GREAT books waiting on your TBR, Jackie! I read Attachments a while ago but remember really enjoying it – I hope you will too. The whole Anna and The French Kiss series is just SO CUTE, my favorite book is the one with Isla though, but that one just made me smile so big the whole time I was reading as well. And YES to PS. I Love You, you have to read that one as soon as you can, it is THE CUTEST BOOK ❤
