May Wrap-Up

Well, well, well.

Here we are again. Another month is over and I honestly don’t know where all my time has gone. These months are FLYING by and I feel like I haven’t accomplished anything?????

Huh. Anyway.

I am already doing my May Wrap-Up today because I have my regular TTT and T5W posts scheduled for the next 2 days. And over Whitsuntide break, I will be visiting my family in Poland! ❤

So from Thursday onward until I-don’t-even-know-when-I-am-coming-home lol you won’t hear too much from me and I probably won’t have time to check out your posts either! *sad face* My apologies in advance! Feel free to leave any links down below, if you’ve written any cool posts that you’re super proud of! 🙂

I think that was enough talking, let’s get into the May Wrap-Up!

Books I’ve Read

I have read 8 books this month which is great! I’ve been really busy with uni and I still managed to read as many books as I read last month so I’m quite proud *pats shoulder*

A Court of Mist and Fury and A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas: Yes, I have finally read this series and I have become absolute trash for it. Feysand is my LIFE and the Inner Circle are my babies and Velaris is my actual HOME. I know that this series is problematic at times and I acknowledge that but I am obsessed with it. 5 stars to both of these books! ❤

I had to read both The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde for class and they were good reads!

And do you know what that means? For once, I have actually managed to read all of the books on my TBR!!! To be fair, I only had 3 books on my May TBR and 2 of them were required reads for uni but STILL! YAY ME!

*click on the book covers to be directed to the Goodreads page*

My favourite reads of the month have definitely been both ACOMAF and ACOWAR along with One Of Us Is Lying! I will have a review for the latter up on Thursday!

Currently Reading

I am still reading The Alchemists of Loom by Elise Kova! I am participating in a buddy read hosted by the author but I’ve been slacking lately *oops*. I am really loving the book though and I can’t wait for the sequel to come out! (I already have an e-ARC of the 2nd book which I’m so excited about!!! :D)

What I’ve Watched

NOTHING! Ever since I created my book blog, I’ve been slacking with watching any kind of TV! There are no TV shows that I’m interested in keeping up with and I’m not really in the mood to start a new one! Sooooo yeah. No answer here! XD

What I Listened To

Let me check my monthly Spotify playlist real quick…….

  • HARRY STYLES by Harry Styles (you guys know that I love Harry so this shouldn’t come as a surprise :P)
  • Lust for Life – Lana Del Rey ft. The Weeknd (LOVE LOVE LOVE <3)
  • chateau – Blackbear (SUCH. A. BOP.)
  • I’m The One – DJ Khaled ft. Chance The Rapper, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Quavo (I’m trash for this song)
  • Slow Hands – Niall Horan (this gives me GREAT vibes)
  • Umbrella – Rihanna (THANKS TOM HOLLAND I CAN’T GET UR PERFORMANCE OUT OF MY HEAD)

Here’s the video if you haven’t seen it yet. It’s the best thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

Awesome posts by fellow bloggers published this month

Future Plans
  • get through most of my Netgalley ARCs because I’m sick of them and I want to skip out on reading/requesting ARCs for a while BECAUSE IT’S STRESSING ME OUT
  • write more Discussion posts: I’ve been having quite a few ideas for discussion posts lately but I’m too lazy to write them lol
  • fix/clean-up my blog: meaning aesthetic-wise and schedule-wise and content-wise (does that even make sense lol)
  • START WRITING: ohhh my god I have all these ideas in my head and I really want to write a story so hopefully that will be happening soon

I have more plans but I can’t remember them so that’s it for now XD

ANOTHER SUPER LONG WRAP-UP BUT I HOPE YOU ENJOYED IT.

Thank you for reading!

    1. OF COURSE YOU CAN READ TWO BOOKS IN 3 DAYS. At least if you power through them :’) and if they’re interesting enough!

OK OK OK JUNE WILL BE THE START OF MY ~serious~ WRITING JOURNEY! And I will make sure to do that because I’ll probably have like 10,000 questions! Thank you so much 💜 I’ll still have posts scheduled but I probably won’t be able to talk to anyone *cries* 😭

  3. Congrats on reading all of the books on your TBR!! That’s always such a satisfying feeling 🙂
I’m so glad you enjoyed the Picture of Dorian Gray. If you like Oscar Wilde’s writing then I would definitely recommend his play The Importance of Being Earnest– it’s really short but REALLY hilarious!

  5. I hope you have fun on your trip! I read only 6 books this month so far, but I’m planning to raise that number.. soon? Agh I read 15 books in March though.. Glad you enjoyed the ACOTAR series, though! I’m slightly scared of reading the third book because… I read bad reviews and now I’m hiding.

    1. Thank you Julianna! And 6 books is AWESOME! I used to read like one book a month haha. I wish I didn’t have to go to uni because I’d be able to read so many more books!
I’ve seen mixed reviews on ACOWAR but they honestly didn’t influence me and I still ended up giving it 5 stars because when I finished reading it, I was left with like… a satisfied feeling. If you know what I mean? Anyway, I loved it!

  6. May was a great reading month for you! I’m so happy you were able to do some reading for pure FUN and not just uni! And good lord, I am complete and UTTER TRASH for the Inner Circle and Feysand too! I want to be part of their group so badly! And live in Velaris, obviously.

Have you listened to Niall perform On The Loose? It’s one of his new songs too and I NEED a studio version RIGHT NOW. I swear I am SO excited for his album! Between This Town, Slow Hands and On The Loose I am already convinced that I will LOVE it. I haven’t really listened to Harry’s album much – it’s not exactly my style of music? But I love Sweet Creature and Carolina – that song is SO GOOD. I might take a few days and actually listen to his album and maybe that’ll change my opinion – who knows. Sandra definitely loves it a lot! Also, as we’re talking about 1D, have you listened to Liam’s song?? I am OBSESSED. And he performed it live and gave off some SERIOUS Justin Timberlake vibes. I about died.

Tom Holland KILLED that Lip Synch Battle performance! I have watched it way too many times already. Zendaya stood ZERO chance of winning against that Umbrella performance!

Oh, Netgalley. I totally am with you on wanting to finish my ARCs and going back to reading something with no pressure attached to it I currently have four ARCs waiting for me and one of them needs to be reviewed by the 9th of next month! And all I really want to do is read Lord Of Shadows, but I can’t. It’s SAD.

Great wrap up, Jackie! I really like the way you did it!

    1. Ahhhh, Swetlana! Sweet, sweet Swetlana. When I saw this super fabulous, SUPER LONG comment I literally squealed out loud! 😂 SO THANK YOU FOR THIS BECAUSE IT MADE ME SUPER HAPPY 💜

Now… Feysand. And the Inner Circle. And the Night Court. And Velaris. They’re my life. Honestly. I could read like 20 more books about those characters!

And ON THE LOOSE??? How have I not heard that before? Oh my, I definitely need to check that out! I wasn’t a big fan of This Town but I LOVE Slow Hands so I’m excited to see what the rest of his album is going to sound like! And yes I have! I like Liam’s song, it gives off great vibes from the few times I’ve heard it!

Ahhh I know right? When I saw Zendaya’s Bruno Mars performance I thought WOW, Tom is going to have to step up his game for him to win this! And then he did that Umbrella performance… wow. I think I have been resurrected after watching that XD

AND YES. I’m so glad you agree! I have like 10 books left to review (half of them are due in September which I’m grateful for haha) but I just really want to get through them and as you said, read without pressure!

Thank you so much! And thanks again for this lovely comment ❤️

      1. I’m really happy to hear that my comment made you happy! There used to be a time when comments like this (length wise) were the norm for me! I would exchange comments that were like 500+ to a 1000 words long sometimes when I first started blogging a couple of years ago. So, you might get a few more of those in the future too!

I don’t even remember how I first heard about On The Loose as I’m not as involved in the fandom anymore and so I miss quite a lot, but I heard it, checked it out and fell in love! I need him to release his album before the fall/winter. That’s still too far away!

HOLY SHIT. That’s still a lot of books! :O But at least they aren’t due too soon so you’ve got some time! Good luck working your way through them! ❤

        You're very welcome!

      2. Well, I’m looking forward to them! 😉 I always try to keep my comments short(-ish, sometimes I just start rambling XD) because I feel like other people might not like them but I for sure appreciate long comments 😍

Ohhh yes! But he’s been talking about finishing touches and stuff so I have a feeling he will release it some time this year!

        I know 😩 but I’ll manage! Thank you 😇

  7. Seems like a productive month! I enjoyed The Jungle Book, but for some reason I’ve forgotten basically everything about the story? I guess it wasn’t that memorable.

  8. It sounds like you have had a productive month. Lucky! This month has just been pathetic for me, (but then again, all of my months are like that). I don’t remember how many books I HAVE READ. Not because I’m super responsible and I read so many books I can’t keep count, it’s cause I have a bad memory… TV shows? I don’t think I have started anything new, but shows I have watched just a little bit of royal pains, full house, big bang theory, and that’s about it. For songs, I basically just listened to what was on the radio XD. I think this month I just want to improve on being more regular on my blog and in Writing and reading. Anyways, I love the post and good luck with the following months!!

    1. Thank you! 💜 and aww, I know how you feel! I can feel a blogging/reading slump creeping up on me so I might not be as productive in June. Thanks so much for sharing! And I hope it all works out for you and good luck with improving the writing and reading and blogging! Thank you! 😇

  9. Oh, you had a great bookish month! I read 16 months this month. I’m glad you enjoyed ACOMAF and ACOWAR. I haven’t read ACOWAR yet but I’m going to pick it up as soon as I’m finished with my current read. I enjoyed The Alchemists of Loom and now I’m very excited for Dragons of Nova.
Hope you have a great time with your family! 🙂
