Fierce Fangirl Friday // Albums I’ve been loving recently!!!

Welcome back to another Fierce Fangirl Friday!

I absolutely love doing these and I’m happy to see that so many of you guys seem to enjoy them too! I’ve been getting great feedback and loads new people have been participating lately!

Today I’m here to talk about music—or more specifically albums that I have been obsessed with lately! I know this is a book blog, but I absolutely LOVE listening to music whether it’s by my favourite artists or new artists that I’ve discovered! It’s such a big part of my life and I don’t think I ever go a day without music!

I hope you enjoy this post as much as I loved writing it and I hope you find one or two artists that you’ll end up loving! :’)

LET’S FANGIRL:

While writing my June Wrap Up post and going through my June playlist on Spotify, I realised there were WAY TOO MANY songs and albums I’ve been loving last month!!!

Instead of simply listing a whole bunch of songs in my Wrap Up, I decided to mention them in this week’s Fangirl Friday post because I love music and I need to share all the cool new songs I discovered with you guys!

So without further ado, LET’S FANGIRL ABOUT ALL THE ALBUMS I’VE BEEN LOVING IN JUNE!

THE ENTIRE NEW LORDE ALBUM AKA MELODRAMA

If you’ve been living under a ROCK this month you might have missed that Lorde has FINALLY resurrected – you had to hide for 4 years??? 4 years??? REALLY??? – and released her second album Melodrama!

It has been getting THE BEST reviews from critics all over the world which is so incredible and totally well-deserved! I love pretty much all of the songs and if you haven’t listened to the album yet, GO DO THAT RIGHT NOW.

FAVOURITE SONG:

Perfect Places is my personal favourite song of the whole album! It’s such a bop and it always makes me want to dance because it’s such a happy and feel-good song! I can’t wait to go to Spain and listen to it on repeat so whenever I hear the song in the future, I’ll always think back to that particular vacation! ❤

FAVOURITE LINE: “I’m 19 and I’m on fire / But when we’re dancing I’m alright / It’s just another graceless night”

CAN YOU BELIEVE LORDE IS MY AGE AND SHE IS DOING T H A T *shook*

AMERICAN TEEN by Khalid

This dude is EIGHTEEN YEARS OLD and he has released his debut album this year. And wanna know something? IT’S FIRE. Honestly, there isn’t even one song on his album that I don’t like! He’s a year younger than me AND HE IS SERVING BOPS LEFT AND RIGHT.

And he’s sooooooo cute, too!!! You should see the pictures he posts on Twitter – his smile is so adorable and so infectious! You can’t help but love him because he has such a positive aura and attitude!

FAVOURITE SONG:

Location is my favourite song because it just sounds SO COOL and it flows really nicely – I honestly can’t explain it, JUST GO AHEAD AND TAKE A LISTEN AND SUPPORT THIS SUPER CUTE KID.

FAVOURITE LINE: “At times I wonder why I fool with you / But this is new to me, this is new to you / Initially, I didn’t wanna fall for you / Gather my attention it was all for you, so don’t /Take advantage, don’t leave my heart damaged”

DUA LIPA by Dua Lipa

You might have heard of Dua Lipa before or at least heard her songs on the radio! Her songs Be The One, Hotter Than Hell or Scared To Be Lonely have been sooo popular (at least in Germany lol). She has such a distinctive, deep and raspy voice I AM SO IN LOVE. AND SHE IS SUCH A SWEET AND GENUINELY NICE PERSON I LOVE HER SO MUCH.

FAVOURITE SONG (at the moment because it literally changes every day):

I am really liking No Goodbyes at the moment but I’m also a huge fan of New Rules or Homesick (which she has sung with Chris Martin from Coldplay AND IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL I WANT TO CRY EVERY TIME I HEAR IT). Go listen to this album because it’s filled with bops and she is an artist to look out for!!!!!!

FAVOURITE LINE: “And we tried hard just to fix it / But we broke it more / And so I guess some things are not meant to last”

CTRL by SZA

SZA FINALLY RELEASED HER DEBUT ALBUM THIS YEAR AND I AM SHOOK!!! She has only ever done collabs or released singles and EPs in the past few years but I always loved what she was doing AND I WAS IMPATIENTLY WAITING FOR AN ALBUM. Now here we are – an entire new debut album is out and it’s so good!

FAVOURITE SONG (at least right now lol):

I am loving Garden at the moment and I’ve also listened to Drew Barrymore and Love Galore for a while now! Go listen to her album if you’re into R&B-ish kind of music!

FAVOURITE LINE: “Open your heart up / Hoping I’ll never find out that you’re anyone else / ‘Cause I love you just how you are”

SO SPECIAL by MUNA

I’ve discovered MUNA very recently when it was announced that they would be joining Harry on his tour this fall! What I love about them so much is that they’re queer and they want to inspire younger girls to embrace who they are and be comfortable with their identites!

One of them said: “I am out and I feel safe being out because the three of us are a little army for one another. I don’t feel afraid to be myself. That makes me proud to be queer. That’s the whole point of why we do this. We want a safe haven.” I LOVE THIS ❤

FAVOURITE SONG:

I Know A Place. I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH. I don’t know what it is but it’s so cool and fun and A BOP. They played it in a H&M recently AND I FREAKED OUT BECAUSE WOWWWW I DIDN’T KNOW PEOPLE KNEW THEM OVER HERE. They’re so freaking cool so go check out their album!

FAVOURITE LINE: “And I can tell when you get nervous / You think being yourself means being unworthy / And it’s hard to love with a heart that’s hurting / But if you want to go out dancing I know a place”

Those were all the albums I’ve been loving and listening to all throughout June!

I don’t think I need to mention the iconic album that is HARRY STYLES by Harry Styles right? 😉

I didn’t want to make this post too long so I will have a part 2 going up next Friday which will be about SONGS only (since I focused this post on albums, if that makes sense?).
