Fangirl Friday—Concert Edition // Seeing Harry Styles and Banks during my birthday week (yes, that exists!)

THE QUEEN OF FANGIRLING IS BACK.

Who missed Fierce Fangirl Fridays???????

MEEEEEEE.

I feel so bad for neglecting my own meme??? But I don’t really want to fangirl about something EVERY WEEK since my posting schedule is literally two times a week and it’d only leave space for one “original” post and it’s SUCH STRESS BYE.

I also wanted to make some changes to this meme and get rid of the FIERCE because IT’S BEEN BUGGING ME FOR SOOOOOO LONG. But someone else is doing ‘Fangirl Fridays’ so I’ll have to check back with them. We’ll see.

WHAT I WILL BE TALKING ABOUT TODAY IS MY CONCERT EXPERIENCE *dies*

I SAW BANKS AND HARRY STYLES ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF AGO AND I HAVE LOADS TO SAY AND FREAK OUT ABOUT SO BE PREPARED FOR CAPS LOCK AND KEYBOARD SMASH AND NOT MUCH COHERENCE.

HARRY STYLES

I don’t even know where to begin.

Everyone knows I’m a Harry stan and I’ve been (secretly) in love with him basically since his One Direction days.

I talked about my love for him and buying tickets to see him in October AND in April in various Fangirl Fridays posts.

AND IT FINALLY HAPPENED. OCTOBER 27TH 2017 WAS THE DAY I FINALLY SAW SOLO HARRY LIVE IN CONCERT.

And it was magical. I can’t even begin to describe how I felt during the entire show. I wrote 17 whole pages in my journal and it’s all about the show and my feelings for Harry.

All I remember is being SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY during the whole show—I couldn’t stop smiling and singing my heart out.

This is my first tweet after coming back from the concert:

I expected to cry A TON during several different songs but I didn’t cry once??? I think I was just in shock and too happy to really grasp what was happening.

And then it came to an end.

Harry had just finished singing Sign of the Times and the band started playing the outro and Harry was saying goodbye and blowing kisses and stuff…….. and that’s when it hit me. It started with one tiny lil sob, and then it turned into a waterfall.

I have NEVER actually fully cried during/after a concert, I’ve only shed a few tears here and there if it was an emotional song and stuff—but that really hit me 😦

LIKE HARRY HAD JUST BEEN GONE FOR 5 SECONDS AND I ALREADY MISSED HIM AND WANTED IT TO HAPPEN ALL OVER AGAIN. IT ALL WENT BY SO FAST I FEEL LIKE I BLINKED AND IT WAS OVER.

So I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed. My sister was even worse than me omlgdjhsjh I pulled myself together after like 5 minutes but she couldn’t stop crying omg 😦

And Harry didn’t notice me because I was too far back (although I swear he pointed and looked at my sign when he started counting them in German) BUT HIS SUPPORT ACT DID.

They’re a band called MUNA and they are absolutely brilliant and you should really check them out!!!

Anyway, I was front row in the second section and the lights were always on me so I held up my birthday sign AND THEY SAW AND POINTED AT ME AND DID HEART SIGNS. I WAS CRYING. THEY’RE SO CUTE.

Annnnnnndddd I got the setlist from this really scary-looking security guard BUT HE ENDED UP BEING SO NICE AND KIND I’M SO HAPPY.

ALSO.

CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE FACT THAT HARRY PLAYED KIWI TWICE.

I WAS DEAD.

I WENT OFF THE FIRST TIME HE PLAYED IT BECAUSE IT’S SUCH A HYPE ROCK SONG BUT THE SECOND TIME. BOYYYY I DON’T KNOW WHO THAT GIRL WAS BUT IT DEFINITELY WASN’T JACKIE BECAUSE SHE WENT AWWWWFFFFF.

I’ve got so many memories about the show that I will keep with me forever but this post will be long enough so I will leave it at that for now.

BANKS

If you don’t know who Banks is, I recommend checking out her newest album ‘The Altar’ because it is a masterpiece. She has more of an indie/alternative sounds while still making it her own AND I LOVE IT.

We got to the venue at 3pm WHICH IS ACTUALLY REALLY LATE WHEN IT COMES TO CONCERTS but there were only 20 people???????

It’s so crazy to me because if you would have done the same for a Harry concert you literally would have been in the last row LMAO.

We were queueing with some really cool people and they were all so nice and kind AND I JUST LOVED IT. I need to go to small gigs more often because everyone is a lot more chill.

Like wow, I’m amazed.

Anyway, so we ended up being FRONT ROW. It was the coolest thing ever.

It’s crazy to me because I was barrier for Harry and everyone was pushing so hard and people had to be carried out and it was just CRAZY.

And then I was barrier for Banks and it was so… chill??? I literally had so much space, not a single person was pushing and I didn’t even make body contact with ANYONE. It’s just…. these two concerts were such a contrast.

Anyway, Banks is a freaking QUEEN and I was absolutely mesmerized during the entire show. She just has that aura about her that makes you want to stare at her and not miss a moment.

She puts so much thought into her shows and her performances and it’s so artsy and aesthetic—I’m in awe.

If you have the chance to see Banks anywhere near you, please do! She is absolutely adorable and her concert will SLAY YOU. She deserves soooooo much more recognition!

So that was that!

Two very contrasting concerts but both were absolutely incredible and I’d do it all over again if I could!
