The Tiger’s Watch by Julia Ember // A GENDERFLUID CHARACTER WHO HAS A SPIRITUAL BOND WITH AN ANIMAL? SIGN ME UP + Giveaway

Hello friends and welcome to my stop on the The Tiger’s Watch Tour!!! I’m so so so excited to be participating in this tour and being able to promote such a great book!

If you’ve been following me for a while you might remember that I mentioned The Tiger’s Watch in my #ARCstravaganza post a few months ago and I TOTALLY FREAKED OUT ABOUT IT BC JULIA EMBER HERSELF SENT ME THE BOOK.

AND IT’S JULIA EMBER!!! THE WOMAN WHO WROTE UNICORN TRACKS AND THE SEAFARER’S KISS (I haven’t read either of them but I know that they’re brilliant).

So when I heard she’d come out with a book about a genderfluid main character???? I KNEW I HAD TO GET MY HANDS ON IT.

Please enjoy my review and check out the giveaway below! It’s international!!!

A VERY FANGIRLY REVIEW OF ILLUMINAE AKA A SCI-FI MASTERPIECE // oh, the feels! attention: spoilers, caps lock and lots of crying ahead!

Guess who’s back from her hiatus!!!!! Not me.

No but seriously, I’m still on a semi-hiatus and I will only be posting sporadically in August!

[cries]: I FEEL LIKE I’M ABANDONING MY BLOG!

#heartbreak

Anyway, I will talk more about my blog/hiatus/life in my Wrap Up (umm, what Wrap Up, Jackie??? you still haven’t written it *laughs nervously*). So scratch that, I’ll have a hiatus update/info/announcement/status report sorta post going up on Monday so stay tuned for that!

I wrote this post like 2 weeks ago but forgot/didn’t have the time to post it so ignore me scratching out every other world hehe :’)

BUT THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT ME OR MY HIATUS SO I SHALL STOP TALKING ABOUT IT. IT’S ALL ABOUT FANGIRLING TODAY. Continue reading “A VERY FANGIRLY REVIEW OF ILLUMINAE AKA A SCI-FI MASTERPIECE // oh, the feels! attention: spoilers, caps lock and lots of crying ahead!”

Welcome to my stop at the Just Friends blog tour hosted by Xpresso Book Tours!

I am here to share my review with you (I tried and succeeded in keeping it quite short!) and there will also be a giveaway at the end of this post!

If you’re into easy-to-read contemporaries and the fake-friendship (no fake dating trope i’m sorry. but tbh i’m kinda disappointed too) and pining-for-each-other tropes, this might just be the book for you!

ARC August TBR // let’s tackle those ARCs we’ve been avoiding!!

Oh looooook, I found a super cool challenge to participate in next month!

I’m so happy that I stumbled across the #ARCAugust hashtag on Twitter because I’ve been needing some motivation to get through some of my Netgalley ARCs that I’ve been meaning to read since March!

My current Netgalley ratio is 75% WHICH IS AWESOME and the highest it’s ever been!!! But I’ve never actually reached that precious 80% so that’s what I’ll be attempting to do in August!

I currently have 8 ARCs left to read on Netgalley. While I don’t plan to read ALL of them next month, I want to get through a good chunk of them!

I’ve also received some ARCs from authors or for blog tours which need to be reviewed this month so I’m quite determined!

You can still sign-up for the ARC August challenge here! Continue reading “ARC August TBR // let’s tackle those ARCs we’ve been avoiding!!”

Ten Dead Comedians by Fred van Lente // Jackie reads mysteries now?????

Yes, you read that right. I’ve actually read a mystery novel. I can’t believe it either tbh.

You guys know I prefer books that are either Contemporaries, or Fantasy (in all shapes and forms). SO WHAT HAPPENED HERE??? WHY DID I READ A MYSTERY NOVEL??? ME OF ALL PEOPLE???

Well, back when I first started out on Netgalley, I requested (and was approved for) Geekerella. I was SO excited that I just had to check out which other books Quirk Books had to offer—and Ten Dead Comedians caught my eye!

I don’t usually read mysteries but the synopsis caught my eye, and I felt like this would be a nice change to what I usually read!

Did the book live up to my expectations? Was it actually a nice change? Or did this book scare me off from the mystery genre forever? You’ll have to read my review to find out* 😛

*oh my god, could I get anymore annoying

I don’t want to make this post too long so that’s why I will only mention half of the people who nominated me and do a Part 2 soon!

LMAO I’ve said “soon” but this most likely won’t happen until like December because I know me and I’m #lazy. DON’T JUDGE ME GO AWAY BYE. Continue reading “Unique Blogger Award // My Hogwarts House, lots of Shatter Me & more! (+ NEW DIVIDERS)”
