Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag

I admit, I didn’t want to do this tag when I’ve first seen it around but now EVERYONE is doing it and I stumbled across Mandy’s post and her answers to the questions were so on point and I could relate to so many of them so I just had to do it, too!

If you’re not following Mandy yet then you’re really missing out??? She is the queen of Disney princesses, in fact, her entire blog is filled with them! She even has her own Disney Princesses Rating System which is so cool and it amazes me every time! Go follow her blog. Right Now. Yes, I am forcing you.

(Oh by the way, I reread the Shatter Me books at the beginning of the year but I won’t be mentioning them because they’d literally be the answer to EVERY SINGLE QUESTION)

So, here we go! Continue reading “Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag”

A Very Fangirly Book Haul (20+ books because I love making my bank account suffer)

I’M BACK!

I got back from my Poland trip on Tuesday but I wanted to take 2 more days off instead of immediately diving back into blogging and stressing myself out again.

In the last couple of days/weeks, I’ve been feeling very drained and I was stressed out to the MAX because I felt so pressured to write posts, comment on everyone’s posts, do some blog-hopping, write some more posts and so on and I almost considered taking a break!

But then my Poland trip came along and I pre-wrote a few posts that would go up while I was away. I visited my family for a few days and it was a lot of fun and a great time to relax and not worry about any obligations (including blogging)!

It was really good for me and I had time to reflect and think about some changes I wanted to make to my blog (especially schedule- and content-wise) and I am back to being motivated and HAVING FUN again. Blogging shouldn’t feel like an obligation and I’m glad that I was able to get rid of the pressure that I’ve been putting on myself!

Soooo, let’s hope that I’ve learned my lesson!

But enough about me and my #stressedout self.

As you can tell by the title, this will be a humongous book haul! I’ve accumulated all of these books in April and May even though I’ve technically been on a book buying ban but that obiviously didn’t work out LOL. Continue reading “A Very Fangirly Book Haul (20+ books because I love making my bank account suffer)”

May Wrap-Up

Well, well, well.

Here we are again. Another month is over and I honestly don’t know where all my time has gone. These months are FLYING by and I feel like I haven’t accomplished anything?????

Huh. Anyway.

I am already doing my May Wrap-Up today because I have my regular TTT and T5W posts scheduled for the next 2 days. And over Whitsuntide break, I will be visiting my family in Poland! ❤

So from Thursday onward until I-don’t-even-know-when-I-am-coming-home lol you won’t hear too much from me and I probably won’t have time to check out your posts either! *sad face* My apologies in advance! Feel free to leave any links down below, if you’ve written any cool posts that you’re super proud of! 🙂

I think that was enough talking, let’s get into the May Wrap-Up!

Books I’ve Read

I have read 8 books this month which is great! I’ve been really busy with uni and I still managed to read as many books as I read last month so I’m quite proud *pats shoulder*

A Court of Mist and Fury and A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas: Yes, I have finally read this series and I have become absolute trash for it. Feysand is my LIFE and the Inner Circle are my babies and Velaris is my actual HOME. I know that this series is problematic at times and I acknowledge that but I am obsessed with it. 5 stars to both of these books! ❤

I had to read both The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde for class and they were good reads!

And do you know what that means? For once, I have actually managed to read all of the books on my TBR!!! To be fair, I only had 3 books on my May TBR and 2 of them were required reads for uni but STILL! YAY ME!

*click on the book covers to be directed to the Goodreads page*

My favourite reads of the month have definitely been both ACOMAF and ACOWAR along with One Of Us Is Lying! I will have a review for the latter up on Thursday!

Currently Reading

I am still reading The Alchemists of Loom by Elise Kova! I am participating in a buddy read hosted by the author but I’ve been slacking lately *oops*. I am really loving the book though and I can’t wait for the sequel to come out! (I already have an e-ARC of the 2nd book which I’m so excited about!!! :D)

What I’ve Watched

NOTHING! Ever since I created my book blog, I’ve been slacking with watching any kind of TV! There are no TV shows that I’m interested in keeping up with and I’m not really in the mood to start a new one! Sooooo yeah. No answer here! XD

What I Listened To

Let me check my monthly Spotify playlist real quick…….

  • HARRY STYLES by Harry Styles (you guys know that I love Harry so this shouldn’t come as a surprise :P)
  • Lust for Life – Lana Del Rey ft. The Weeknd (LOVE LOVE LOVE <3)
  • chateau – Blackbear (SUCH. A. BOP.)
  • I’m The One – DJ Khaled ft. Chance The Rapper, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Quavo (I’m trash for this song)
  • Slow Hands – Niall Horan (this gives me GREAT vibes)
  • Umbrella – Rihanna (THANKS TOM HOLLAND I CAN’T GET UR PERFORMANCE OUT OF MY HEAD)

Here’s the video if you haven’t seen it yet. It’s the best thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

Awesome posts by fellow bloggers published this month

Future Plans
  • get through most of my Netgalley ARCs because I’m sick of them and I want to skip out on reading/requesting ARCs for a while BECAUSE IT’S STRESSING ME OUT
  • write more Discussion posts: I’ve been having quite a few ideas for discussion posts lately but I’m too lazy to write them lol
  • fix/clean-up my blog: meaning aesthetic-wise and schedule-wise and content-wise (does that even make sense lol)
  • START WRITING: ohhh my god I have all these ideas in my head and I really want to write a story so hopefully that will be happening soon

I have more plans but I can’t remember them so that’s it for now XD

ANOTHER SUPER LONG WRAP-UP BUT I HOPE YOU ENJOYED IT.

Thank you for reading!

How many books did you read in May? Did you watch any new TV shows/movies? What were your favorite songs to listen to this month? Any concrete plans for the following months? Let’s chat in the comments!

The Goodreads Book Tag

I am so SO behind on all of my tags, I literally have 2 pages in my blog journal filled with Awards/Tags and I’m so bad at keeping up but I’M TRYING!!! 😀

Anyway, welcome to the Goodreads Book Tag!

I’ve been using Goodreads for years now and I am SO glad that it exists! It’s literally a DREAM for every book nerd! It’s such a great way to keep up with books you’ve read and TBR books and discovering new books! And being able to connect with other fellow book lovers all over the world is just incredible! ❤

Feel free to befriend me on Goodreads here!

I was tagged by Nadwa @ Painfully Fictional a long, long time ago lol (as I said, I’m trying to keep up XD) and Sheri @ Read in a Flash who tagged me very recently so I thought: “Alright Jackie, it’s time to get it together!”

So here we are 😀

Enjoy the Goodreads Book Tag!

What Was The Last Book You Marked As Read?

Renegades by Marissa Meyer

I have literally only just heard about this book a few days ago when Nadwa made a post about it!!! I can’t believe I didn’t find out about this before because it sounds AWESOME!

“…a star-crossed love story between a girl who’s been raised by supervillains and a boy who’s been raised by superheroes.”

I’M SOLD HELLO WHERE CAN I GET MY COPY

What Are You Currently Reading?

The Alchemists of Loom by Elise Kova

The author Elise Kova is hosting a buddy read on Facebook (which you can still join here if you can catch up on 20 chapters in a day XD) and I am really enjoying it so far! I got the eBook for under 1$ (whaaat?) when Elise did some kind of promotion thingy for the group buddy read! It’s honestly such a great book, I might write a review once I’m through with it at the end of the month! 😀

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

Well, my ACOWAR copy F I N A L LY came last Friday (after being delayed like TWICE) and I have finally started reading it (I hope you’re proud, Bella)! It’s taking me a while because I keep over-analyzing every single line lol but it’s great so far!!! 😛

What Do You Plan To Read Next?

Wellllllll… a few days ago I picked out 5 books from my shelves and put them on my night stand which now kind of serve as my ‘priority-books-to-read-next’ if that makes any sense? But the next book I’m going to read won’t be from that stack of books (lol talk about priority reads :P) but rather from my endless e-ARCs waiting on Kindle!

One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus

I was so excited when I got approved to read One Of Us Is Lying on Netgalley and since this is coming out soon, I’ll be reading that next!!!!! 😀 😀

Do You Use The Star Rating System?

Yes I do! I usually don’t rate under 3 stars though! I think I’m too generous a lot of the time but I feel like just because I PERSONALLY did not like the book, doesn’t mean someone else wouldn’t like it! And if the writing and everything was good and I didn’t notice any issues/problematic things, I am most likely going to give it 3 stars! 😀

Are You Doing A 2017 Reading Challenge?

Jackie has
read 35 books toward
her goal of
50 books.
hide

Of course!!! I have recently upped my goal because I had already reached my goal of reading 30 books 😀

Do You Have A Wishlist?

Not really! I have a few books that I’d consider my ‘priority- buys/reads’ in my Amazon cart and I check it every day to see if the prices have changed! So that’s kind of like a wishlist 😀

What Book Do You Plan On Buying Next?

Umm, well since my book-buying ban didn’t quite work out in April (I’’ll probably have to do a haul soon XD) I’ve decided not to buy any books in May instead! And it’s going well so far! Let’s see how long that will last 😀 I’ve pre-ordered When Dimple Met Rishi ages ago so that should be the book that I’ll be receiving next (if I don’t buy other books first XD)!

Do You Have Any Favorite Quotes?

Can I just say all Shatter Me quotes? No? Well, let me just mention a few of them anyway 😛

THE MOST ICONIC LINE EVER:

“Ignite, my love. Ignite.”

Tahereh Mafi, Ignite Me

WARNER = KING OF DRAGGING!!!

“Do you never get exhausted being so wholly unbearable? You have as much charisma as the rotting innards of unidentified roadkill.”

Tahereh Mafi, Ignite Me

I WANT TO DIE JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS SCENE:

“And we are quotation marks, inverted and upside down, clinging to one another at the end of this life sentence. Trapped by lives we did not choose.”

Tahereh Mafi, Ignite Me

YES GIRL YES GIRL Y E S  G I R L:

“I like the way I feel about myself when I’m with him.” I say quietly. “Warner thinks I’m strong and smart and capable and he actually values my opinion. He makes me feel like his equal–like I can accomplish just as much as he can, and more. And if I do something incredible, he’s not even surprised. He expects it. He doesn’t treat me like I’m some fragile little girl who needs to be protected all the time.”

Tahereh Mafi, Ignite Me

some non-Shatter Me quotes lol:

“I took a breath. “Your highness—”
“Nikolai,” he corrected. “But I’ve also been known to answer to ‘sweetheart’ or ‘handsome.”

Leigh Bardugo, Siege and Storm

“There are good days and hard days for me—even now. Don’t let the hard days win.”

Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury

“To the people who look at the stars and wish, Rhys.”
Rhys clinked his glass against mine. “To the stars who listen— and the dreams that are answered.”

Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury

Who Are Your Favorite Authors?

Tahereh (Queen of YA) Mafi, Leigh Bardugo, Marie Lu – my holy trinity ❤

Have You Joined Any Groups?

I have but I don’t use them that much!

EXCEPT FOR THE NEW YA BOOK BLOGGERS GROUP THAT NADWA HAS CREATED BECAUSE WE PLANNED TO BUDDY READ CINDER!!! If you want to join us, feel free to join the group!!! Check out Nadwa’s post for more info! We will be buddy-reading it in July and there will also be other really cool things happening 😉

That’s it for the Goodreads Book Tag!

cheers (10)

I’ve seen a lot of people who have done this tag recently and so I won’t be tagging anyone! But if you’d like to do the tag, consider yourself tagged!

Thanks for reading!

Do you use Goodreads? What book are you currently reading? Do you use the Star Rating system? Have you joined the 2017 Reading Challenge? How many books to you plan to read this year? Let’s chat in the comments!

May TBR

My list of planned reads for the month of May will be very small and unambitious lol. I’ve only been back at uni for 2 weeks but I already have 2 books to read, 3 essays  and many more assignments to write. And I just don’t believe that I will get that much reading done. And if I do, I don’t want to constrict myself to a TBR! 😀

A Court of Wings and Ruin – Sarah J. Maas

Alright, it’s actually kind of convenient that my copy won’t be here until Tuesday because I have to read another book for uni until Monday! But once I’ve read that I can fully indulge in the feels that ACOWAR will be giving me! *heart eyes*

That being said, I will probably have to avoid social media all week! I’ve partly been spoiled for the first two books in the trilogy and I just really want to get into the third book blind! So that means no Twitter and Goodreads for me this week 😦

ALSO IF YOU PLAN TO TALK ABOUT ACOWAR IN ANY OF YOUR POSTS IT’D BE REALLY NICE IF YOU MENTIONED THAT SOMEWHERE SO I DON’T ACCIDENTALLY SPOIL MYSELF THANKSSS 🙂 ❤

A Classic a month

As you may or may not know, I am trying (and failing) to read one classic every month! This month, my choice has been made for me since I have to read both The Picture of Dorian Gray, which I’ve actually been wanting to read for a while, and The Jungle Books for class! I’ll be writing quizzes on both of these sooooo yeah :’)

I’ll keep the rest of the month open – I still have a few books from Netgalley to read and review this month and I’ll just see if I will be able to find the time to read other books inbetween assignments and essays!

Thank you for reading!

YAY I LOVE THIS ONEEEE 😀

Top Ten Tuesday – Forming a Body out of Book Covers

I KNOW WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE BUT THIS IS NOT NAUGHTY AT ALL. IT’S ACTUALLY QUITE COOL SO DON’T WORRY XD

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there’s a new book-related topic to answer!

This week’s topic is a Cover Theme Freebie – so it could literally be anything about book covers!

I was very indecisive at first and couldn’t settle on a topic. All I knew is that I really wanted to include the super gorgeous Shatter Me covers and the adorable When Dimple Met Rishi cover AND THEN I HAD AN IDEA!!!!

Why not “form” a whole body with the help of book covers! So my theme for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday is Book Covers featuring Body Parts/Forming a Body out of Book Covers!!!

I know that technically what I’m about to show you is not a whole body but just check it out and see if you’ll like it? *puppy eyes* ❤

THE FACE – or parts of it hehe

We can either go for a beautiful full face and some wonderful pink hair…

…or we could use a super adorable (half-) face and add two gorgeous eyes to make it a full face!

Shatter Me WHEN DIMPLE MET RISHI Ignite Me

THE BODY

We have two options here! Personally, I’d go for a more fierce look and choose Feyre’s kickass black dress!

THE LEGS

Bare legs because we’re wearing a dress…

…and let’s not forget the shoes! We’re going for a fierce look with the dress so red shoes would be a perfect match! And since we have TWO feet, we’ll need two shoes 😉

I had SO MUCH FUN with this post and I hope you will like it as much as me! I mean, it is a pretty simple post but I love the end result and how the “body” turned out!!!

I’m actually quite proud of myself for having thought of this 🙂 It looks so much better seeing it now than it did in my head!

As always, thank you for reading! ❤

Jackie x

What did you think of the topic I chose? Did you like this post? Do you know of any other book covers that have body parts on them? Maybe covers with hands or ears or any body part I have missed so we could add them to this collection! 😀 Let’s chat in the comments!

April Wrap-Up

HOW. DID. THIS. HAPPEN.

I literally blinked and suddenly it’s the end of April! Time is just going CRAZY!

Anyway, this will be a long one so let’s not talk too much! Please enjoy my April Wrap-Up 🙂

What I Read/A Very ARC-ish Readathon

This month I read a total of 8 books! Having this book blog is helping me read a lot more than I used to which is amazing!!!

This month I was participating in the A Very ARC-ish Readathon which was hosted by Aimal over at Bookshelves and Paperbacks. The first 7 books I read this month were ARCs from NetGalley!

I made a promise to myself to not request any ARCs on Netgalley until my ratio was at least at the precious 80% (except if it’s a book that I’ve been HIGHLY anticipating). I am currently at 62% which I’m very proud of because I’ve caught up quite a bit! I still have a few books pending but I am hoping to read more of them in May and hopefully get to 80% next month! :’)

ARCS I READ

  • The Castaways – Jessika Fleck: This was an okay read. I had a few issues with it but overall it was a solid read! I have a review of The Castaways up on my blog and I also got the chance to participate in the Castaways blog tour and interview the author Jessica Fleck!
  • Unknown Horizons – CJ Birch: The premise of this book had so much potential but I ended up being disappointed because the whole thing just felt underdeveloped! Here is my review of Unknown Horizons.
  • The Magician’s Lie – Greer Macallister: This was described as ‘Water for the Elephants’ meets ‘The Night Circus’ and it was an overall enjoyable read! Full review is on Goodreads.
  • Slow Boat – Hideo Furukawa: I don’t know if I just didn’t understand what this book was trying to convey but I did not like this AT ALL! It was a genuinely MESSY book – letters were missing, the narrator jumped from one place to the next and I almost DNFed it! Full review is on Goodreads.

  • The Song of the Stork – Stephan Collishaw: This was a 4 star read for me. This was a story set during WW2 and I like reading those stories if they’re done well! And this one definitely was! Full review is on Goodreads.
  • The Space Between the Stars – Anne Corlett: This was a story set in space where a group of survivors go on an adventurous journey through space, dreaming of a new beginning. This was another 4 star read for me! A review of The Space Between the Stars will be up closer to publication (end of May).
  • 180 Seconds – Jessica Park: This was one of my most recent reads and I’ll just link you to my blog review if you haven’t seen it yet! 😉

OTHER BOOKS I READ (that weren’t ARCs lol)

A Court of Thorns and Roses – Sarah J. Maas: AHHHHH!!! What a LOVELY read. I wasn’t too invested in the romance because I knew how that would go in Book 2 lol but it was still amazing. I LOVED Feyre as a character – she’s so smart, sassy and just fabulous ❤

By the way, I won’t be reviewing this one anywhere because most of you have probably already read it lol. But if you HAVEN’T, I can 100% recommend it!!!!!!

CURRENTLY READING

  • Persuasion – Jane Austen: As you may know, I am attempting to read one classic every month. I am about halfway through Persuasion but it’s been difficult to get through – whenever I was reading it, my thoughts were wandering. I think I am putting this on hold for now.
  • Heartborn – Terry Maggert: Another Netgalley ARC – I’ve been reading this one during my 20-minute train journeys on my way to uni and it’s alright so far!
  • A COURT OF MIST AND FURY – SJM: I didn’t get very far yet BUT IM ALREADY SCREAMING AND CRYING AND BREAKING DOWN SOOOOOO :’)

BOOKS I’VE STARTED/ATTEMPTED TO READ BUT ARE ON HOLD FOR NOW

PLEASE DON’T ASK ME WHY I’VE PUT BOTH OF THESE ON HOLD BECAUSE I DON’T KNOW!!! I wasn’t ready for the feels that hit me when I started Six of Crows and I was VERY ashamed when I put it back on my shelf 😦 Same with Simon Vs!!! I’ll return to SOC when I’m emotionally ready for the feels and have recovered from ACOMAF!!!

What I Watched

Pets

I’ve been meaning to watch Pets for a while! One morning I saw that it was on TV and since I had nothing better to do I watched the whole thing! It was soooooo hilarious, funny and just adorable!!! 10/10 would recommend! ❤

13 Reasons Why

I started 13 Reasons Why at the beginning of the month. Originally, I hadn’t planned to watch the series AT ALL – I wasn’t interested because the teaser trailers didn’t convince me and I felt like I wouldn’t like it. But ever since it came out, there’s just been a lot of talk and hype surrounding it and so I gave in and started it.

Right now, I am only about halfway through. Partly, because I’ve been a busy bee – visiting Munich, going away for Easter, going back to university – but also because it’s a show with very dark and heavy topics that sometimes trigger my anxiety. I could never binge-watch the show in like a day or two like some people do – I can barely get through an episode sometimes! So far I am liking it though.

SkamAlso Skam is back again! If you don’t know it (umm, have you been living under a rock???!!?!), it’s a Norwegian TV show and each season is about a different teen who struggles with certain things. It addresses very relevant topics and has some incredible characters! GO WATCH IT NOWWW!

Unfortunately, this is the last season of Skam :((((((( I’m so SAD! But they’ve made Sana the main character for this one and I’M GLAD because that’s what I’ve been hoping for! Sana is just ICONIC and A QUEEN! I didn’t really get the chance to actually watch a full episode – cue my busy life – but I hear that it’s great!

I also really need to rewatch Season 2 because I miss Noorhelm and I need to delve back into the FEELS. My sweet children. ❤

What I Listened To

To start off, I’d just like to mention my Top 3 songs of the month. I literally did not go a day without listening to at least one of these songs (if not all of them).

THE THREE MASTERPIECES OF APRIL:

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND LISTEN TO ALL THREE OF THESE ❤ They’re all incredible songs and I don’t think I’ll stop listening to them anytime soon.

Blackbear’s do re mi gives me the greatest vibes! He has also released his new album – if you’re into that R&B-ish type of music, give it a listen – it’S DOPE!!!!

Also…….. Harry Styles – Sign of the Times. GO LISTEN TO THE SONG OF THE YEAR, ARTIST OF THE YEAR, ALBUM OF THE YEAR, BEST-SELLING TOUR OF THE YEAR. HARRY IS SNATCHING EVERYONE’S WEAVES LEFT AND RIGHT!!!!!!!!

If you don’t know about Banks, stop what you’re doing and check out her music. She is just incredible. I love her sooooo incredibly much and Crowded Places is just so gorgeous – a love song to all the introverts out there ❤

OTHER SONGS I’VE ENJOYED THIS MONTH:

  • Despacito – Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee (I am a SUCKER for spanish songs!!!)
  • Slide – Frank Ocean, Calvin Harris, Migos
  • Good Life – Kehlani ft. G-Eazy
  • I Feel It Coming – The Weeknd (this has sneaked it’s way back into the playlist because it’s all over the radioooo and it gives me great vibes)
  • Love Galore – SZA ft. Travis Scott (this only just came out and it’s DOPE)

Achievements

It’s my two month anniversary here on Too Much of a Book Nerd – or toomuchofabooknerd? – I still don’t know whether to space it out or leave it all together! UGHHH. Anyway.

In these two months I managed to reach 200 freakin’ followers!?!?!!!?!?!??! WHAAAAT? I am honestly in shock and in awe and amazed and just… Shook.

Thank you guys so much – everyone who has ever followed, liked, commented, shared etc. I love you to the moon and back ❤

I know everyone always says this when reaching a milestone but I HONESTLY never ever ever expected to even reach like 50 followers and now there’s 200 of you guys and this is just NUTS! I appreciate every single one of you sooooo much and I love talking to you guys ❤

I don’t really have anyone in real-life who loves books as much as me so this blog and this whole community is PERFECT to share all my thoughts and feelings! And I made some incredible friends in these 2 months and I looove you guys! So much!

I will hopefully be able to give something back to you guys in the near future *cough* a giveaway? *cough* maybe? *cough* lol but yeah. That will probablymaybehopefully be happening soon-ish!

Thanks again to each and every single one of you ❤

here’s a Gif of my FAVVVVE to show my love and gratitude :’)

My original goal for 2017 was to read 30 books. I reached that goal in April and so I decided to set a new goal! I have settled on 50 books for now since uni has started again and I won’t have as much time to read as before!

A Court of Wings and Ruin – Sarah J. Maas:

I feel like this one is on EVERYONE’S list! It comes out in a few days and I honestly can’t wait! I’ve only read ACOTAR and I’m currently reading ACOMAF for the first time but I am so obsessed!

BY THE WAY…… I am OUTRAGED!!!!!! APPARENTLY MY COPY OF ACOWAR WON’T BE HERE UNTIL THE 9TH OF MAY!!! :OOOOOO So, I’ll probably avoid all social media until I’ve actually read it because I don’t want to be spoiled for this one!!!

WHEN DIMPLE MET RISHI

When Dimple Met Rishi – Sandhya Menon

I have been waiting for this book for MONTHS and I honestly can’t believe it will be here soon!!!! The end of May can’t come fast enough! It’s about two Indian-American teens whose parents have arranged for them to be married. It’s supposed to be a super sweet and adorable and genuinely funny YA novel and I can’t wait to read it! And isn’t that just the cutest cover EVER!!! 😀

Release Day: May 30th 2017

Noteworthy – Riley Redgate

I’ve only seen very few people talk about this book but I heard amazing things about it and I’m quite excited for it to be released! This is a coming of age contemporary novel about a cappella and college and it’s #ownvoices! The MC is Chinese and bisexual and it’s generally a very diverse book that discusses important topics like sexuality, gender etc. You should totally check it out once it releases!

Release Day: May 2nd 2017

The Love Interest – Cale Dietrich

This is a story about teenage spies (which ALREADY makes me want to read it!!!!). Two boys are competing for a girl and she has to choose between the two of them. Whoever the girl doesn’t choose will die. Do I even need to say more???!?!

Release Day: May 16th 2017

The Seafarer’s Kiss –  Julia Ember

This is a bisexual, f/f retelling of The Little Mermaid and WHO DOESN’T LOVE A GOOD MERMAID STORY?!?! A Goodreads review said that this story is about “Ursula outwitting Loki to save the woman she loves” and I was SOLD. Can’t wait to finally read this one!

Flame in the Mist – Renee Ahdieh

How could I write a post like this and NOT mention Flame in the Mist!!! This is a Mulan retelling or at least has some similarities to Mulan and if that doesn’t make you want to read the book then I don’t know what will!!!

Release Day: May 16th 2017
